Cybersecurity is a good start, but let's improve privacy laws in Saskatchewan too

During Saskatchewan’s throne speech in October, technology and artificial intelligence were each mentioned once. Both mentions were in the context of a national cybersecurity agreement that Saskatchewan signed, which “will ensure … the people of Saskatchewan and their data remain safe.”
Respectfully, this fails to meet the moment.
We need more than cybersecurity agreements to protect our data. We also need, among the many issues at play, effective privacy laws to shape how our data is used within AI and other data-driven technologies... (Read the article on The Saskatoon StarPhoenix and Regina Leader-Post.)
